This January, Scott McDonald is taking on an incredible challenge — attempting to run the entire length of the Baja California peninsula on foot, establishing the Fastest Known Time (FKT). But this run isn’t just about endurance. It’s about purpose.
Scott is running to raise awareness and support education in Baja California. He has partnered with the nonprofit organization, Club Las Amigas, to help raise the $20,000 urgently needed to purchase a dependable school bus for the students attending Escuela Tecnica in San Felipe.
Will you make your best gift before January 2nd, when he begins this journey?
If 200 people like yourself made a gift of just $100, we can ensure all students have safe and reliable transportation to school. Without a bus, students will have to walk to school. Some may not be able to attend due to the distance. Your generous gift today will help children stay in school so they can have the brightest futures possible.
Your support right now will make a big difference to the students and community in San Felipe, as well as for all who call Baja home.
The run will cover approximately 1,500 kilometers (939 miles), beginning at the Mexico–U.S. border in Mexicali and finishing in Cabo San Lucas, following the main highways along the way. Scott's goal is to complete this journey within one month.
This project will be GPS-tracked and broadcast through social media, highlighting the incredible landscapes, people, and municipalities that make Baja so unique. Along the route, he will collaborate with local communities to promote the educational cause and spotlight the strength and spirit of Baja California.
Your support will help amplify this effort and make a tangible and meaningful impact. Together, we can bring attention to both the beauty of Baja and the importance of investing in its future through education.

Where is this run taking place?
The run will span the entire length of Baja California. This is approximately 1,500 kilometers (939 miles), beginning at the Mexico–U.S. border in Mexicali and finishing in Cabo San Lucas, following the main highways along the way. The goal is to complete this journey within one month.

What is an FKT?
Fastest Known Time. It is confirmed by recording a route while following established criteria, to maintain credibility, consistency and integrity. A certified organization verifies, records, and catalogues the achievements. By regulation, the project will GPS-tracked.
Will there be a support crew?
Yes, Scott will have a crew with him during the entire journey. They will be ready to provide aid, logistics, and support on a moment-by-moment basis.
